10 Years of Heathrow’s Express Service

Following its introduction 10 years ago, the Heathrow Express train has provided a comfortable and convenient service for commuters to London’s busiest airport from Paddington station.

The train, which takes approximately 15 minutes, leaves Paddington every 15 minutes from 05.10 until 23.25 every day. There are 2 stops at Heathrow, the central station which serves terminals 1 to 3 and a new stop, serving the recently-opened terminal 5. Trains returning in the opposite direction, from Heathrow to Paddington, leave at quarter past the hour.

Operators have been praised for the efficiency of the service, along with the implementation of measures to lessen its environmental impact, including disguising ventilation shafts as barns. This is in the face of criticisms, which have mainly focussed on the poor quality of air at Paddington Station.

The Paddington-based Elysee hotel offers quality, affordable 3 star hotel accommodation, which is just a short walk from the Heathrow Express. It is perfect for those seeking excellent transport links, as well as being close to attractions such as Madame Tussauds and Hyde Park.

A spokesperson for the hotel said: “For 10 years, the Heathrow Express has provided an invaluable service for those staying in London. The fact that we are in such close proximity to Paddington Station means that we are ideal for anyone looking for access to the service and other transport links within London.”

With rooms from just £45 per night, the hotel offers some of the best budget accommodation in central London.
